A little about us and our tours

Explore the Hebrides with Hugh at a relaxed Island pace

At Hebridean Isle Tours we aim to make your visit to the Hebrides a memorable one.

We welcome lone travellers and we will not cancel due to lack of numbers.

All our tours are done a relaxed Hebridean pace where you set the timetable our three planned tours, one of the Isle of Lewis, one of Isle of Harris and another over to Uig on the trail of the Lewis Chessmen, visit all the well known sites throughout the Isles plus many more hidden treasures.

You can join one of our group tours, which has no more than 8 passengers or if you prefer we can make up an itinerary especially for you on our bespoke tours.

Hugh or Gordon, your local guides, can collect you from your accommodation, the ferry terminal, airport or when you arrive off your cruise ship and talk you through the history of the island as well as taking you to some of the most picturesque place imaginable.

Even if you bring your own transport over, spend a day with Hebridean Isle Tours to show you these beautiful isles before you explore yourself.

Callanish Stones

Isle of Lewis Historical Tour

Prices are £90 per person, group bookings or exclusive tours available

Experience breathtaking scenery and some of the worlds most well preserved archaeological sites with Hugh your local guide
This tour is a great option for you to explore the Isle of Lewis.
Once we collect you we head north towards the Butt of Lewis at the most northerly point of the island, with its magnificent cliffs and an abundance of bird life including Gannets, Arctic Terns and Shags, which has also been noted as the windiest place in the UK, after taking in some of the spectacular scenery we aim for the west side where we stop at the Arnol Blackhouse, Carloway Broch and finally at the magnificent Calanais Standing Stones.
Booking is essential.

Some site have an admission fee.
Food is not provided.

The Stunning Isle of Harris

Prices are £90 per person, group bookings or exclusive tours available

Once we collect you we head south through Lewis and into the Isle of Harris with its abundance of Lewisian Gneiss, which is some of the oldest rocks in Britain and indeed the world, then further south round the east coast and the Bays of Harris down to Rodel and St Clements Church then up the west coast viewing some of the most spectacular beaches on the planet, Horgabost and Seilebost with views over to Luskentyre with plenty opportunities to stop off and explore or just sit and relax taking in its beauty.
We have a stop off in Tarbert for some retail therapy where you can visit the Harris Tweed shop and also the Isle of Harris Distillery before returning north to Stornoway.

Luskentyre
Ardroil

Uig and the trail of the Chessmen

£90 per person, group bookings or exclusive tours available

Discover Uig on the west side of the Isle of Lewis a land of mystery and history with ancient mountain ranges, once as high as the Himalayas to the vast beautiful Uig sands. From the end of the road, literary, with the site of ancient temples and nunneries to Ardroil where the Lewis chessmen were uncovered. A land steeped in nearly four thousand years of history including Viking times right up to a WWW2 base. The scenery and Atlantic views are unbelievable with plenty stops for photo opportunities.

We start our day with a visit to the local museum in Stornoway, Museum nan Eilean, to view some of the chess pieces and get an excellent insight into local history and culture, before we leave Stornoway.

Does your family hail from the outer Hebrides? If so, let us know and we will design a tour for you. Maybe they were part of the 300 young Lewis folk who sailed on the SS Metagama from Stornoway and settle in Canada and North America on the 21st April 1923 or did they travel further afield, let us know where they originated from and we can build a tour around your needs.

Each of our tours are prepared to your specification and requirements, We go where you want to go.

We are currently offering private, exclusive tours of Scotland for you and your party of up to a maximum of 8 passengers.

We can source the best accommodation and stopovers for your tour. we can arrange tours of any duration from 3-10 days depending on your requirements.

We can tailor your tour to visit any part of the Scottish mainland and also some of the Islands too.

We can arrange to meet you in our major cities Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen or Inverness depending on where you arrive.

We can also include your own personal Scottish Traditional Music tour with live performances playing tunes from the areas we visit.
